Sahara Marie, opened her eyes for the first time on June 23, 1985 at 4:20pm, in Portland, Oregon (USA) with big dreams and realizations of the future. She was a pretty little girl growing up, but very shy.

“In my mind, I believed I could do and be anything I wanted”.

Further, her parents entered her in a beauty pageant and she took first place. She filled with big hope’s and dreams. She lived with her siblings in her early life. She commenced her educational background at West Linn High School in West Linn Oregon. She struggled by doubting herself and afraid to show who she really was, not having the confidence to be who she is today.

“I didn’t even start wearing jeans until the 6th grade. I hated them. I liked stretch pants and big sweatshirts. Going into middle school I was skinnier, but I always have had thick thighs and a butt. I was always so embarrassed of my thighs that I would never wear shorts and I hated my knees. I know weird. I only wore capris and pants. Even swimming I would wear boy board shorts. Always so shy, well until you get to know me and then you would find out I’m not shy at all. Shortly after I found out I was pregnant with my first child. Being my first pregnancy I ate for 2!! I gained about 50-60 pounds and gained my stretch marks. I wasn’t happy with my body at all. People don’t tell you that after you have a baby you still look pregnant. It’s the biggest I had ever been and I didn’t have a strong support system at the time. I was able to lose that weight again and again my confidence was up, but I needed to learn to be happy with myself no matter what my body looked like. I wasn’t at my goal weight, but I was happier. I still had a little pooch, I would wear a tank top anytime I would be intimate because I was embarrassed of the it. After getting together with my now husband I can see the beauty even with the extra weight. After having 2 more children and now having a bigger pooch and more stretch marks he makes me feel like I am so beautiful and he loves all the extra to grab a hold of. It was about 6 months after our second daughter was born my husband and I took a much needed weekend away together. He wanted to prove to me that I am beautiful and that he isn’t the only person that would think that. We had a fun photoshoot all weekend and I created my Instagram page. But I think a lot of confidence comes with age, the more you don’t care what people think. I am human, I still have my moments. But I have an amazing support system and a great family that loves me for me. I couldn’t ask for more. So I decided it was time to start loving myself. And not just in the superficial sense of self-love, like exercising regularly and watching less TV. It was time to really, fully and wholly love myself–top to bottom, inside and out. How I Learned to Embrace the Skin I’m In. Too skinny. Too fat. Why don’t I look like her? She’s so much more successful than I am. These phrases, and so many similar to them, are too often what we tell ourselves. We are constantly finding something wrong when we look in the mirror, or when comparing ourselves to others (stop doing that right now, It took me a while to realize how problematic all this can be. And it’s not to say that sometimes I don’t still have days like this, but I’ve trained myself to quickly snap out of it). Having two girls of my own and step daughter they need to witness all the self-love they can in today’s society. I continue to push my personal boundaries and continue to be a positive role model. Now, I even will wear two-piece bathing suits and walk down the crowed beach. I wear normal shorts and tank tops. If I could do it, you can do it too. It maybe a hard road, but it is so worth it! Get up each morning and say one thing you love about yourself. Keep doing that till you believe what you’re saying. Once you believe and have that confidence and self-love people will see that. People will still try to knock you down, don’t let them. Get back up in the morning and again say what you love about yourself. It could be as simple as I kicked ass at work yesterday, the kids didn’t die (hahaha, a little mom humor), my hair looks beautiful, I was positive. It doesn’t all have to be about looks. Just stay positive as much as you can and remember you don’t need to be afraid of who you are, just be you”

She always did different things but found the one true thing she loved, being in front of the camera, her personality comes alive. During that stage, she learned to love herself and open up to the world to show you don’t need to be afraid of who you are, therefore, since then has never looked back since.
