New York Fashion Week 2022 – Uplive and Hekka Fashion show recap

Global live streaming service Uplive and the style e-commerce Hekka Fashion, delivered one of New York Fashion Week’s most eclectic events filled with art, international influencers and more glam than ever before!

Uplive x Hekka Fashion NYFW 2022 RUNWAY SHOW brought to live emerging fashion retail platform Hekka Fashion’s latest collection inspired by leisure and to travel in post-pandemic world and, featuring active wear, flowy cocktail dresses, athleisure, and vacation styles – all celebrating comfort, elegance, and timeless femininity.

The ready-to-wear runway collection, followed by an awards ceremony and an immersive entertainment programme, were all streamed live on the global live streaming platform Uplive. The popular social app allows users to live broadcast their content live and be paid by supporters. Unlike other popular streaming services, Uplive focuses on showcasing talent, inclusivity, and diversity.

Among the celebrities and influencers who attended the Uplive x Hekka NYFW event was international model, author, and public figure Maye Musk. Speaking to Maye she shared her supporting to diversity and inclusion. Also, she appreciates the effort of UPLIVE to provide more opportunities to emerging talents.  

She surprised the crowd with a stylish tracksuit by KEPPI, one of the emerging brands featured on the Uplive x Hekka Fashion runway. She wore an oversized pattern hoodie with ‘recyclable’ slogan and black wide-leg joggers. She accessorised the outfit with black and gray trainers, statement earrings. Musk was also sporting a dazzling white eyeliner and her signature blow-out – an unusual combination of urban chick and feminine glamour.

Also making an appearance was Abigail Posner – U.S. Creative Works director at Google. With a background in anthropology, marketing, and digital advertising, she has focused her career on changing the attitudes towards innovation, creativity and the intersection of humanity and technology.

After the event, Uplive and Hekka Fashion hosted the New York Fashion Week Talent Awards – a ceremony that celebrated the most talented fashion personalities from around the world. Hosted online for second year running, the Awards saw models, influencers, celebrities, and fashion artists compete for the Top Fashion Awards Title and other benefits such as New York Fashion Week experience passes, the chance to perform on the runway, cash, and more.

The glamorous event also hosted rapper and producer London (@londonondatrack), singer-songwriters Michael Coveto and Clinton Kane, influencers Armando Rubio, Jennifer Biana-Gelman and Charlize Chiu. With live musical performances from Filipino artist Arci Muñoz (@Ramonathornes), dance and entertainment acts, the show delivered a little something for both the audiences at home and at the event.

A collaboration of this size was first for Hekka Fashion, but Uplive has history of hosting annual events to support creators, causes and initiatives. During the pandemic, the Uplive community became vital in supporting small and independent creators in performing arts, lifestyle, and fashion. The commitment to supporting developing and emerging areas through supporting their most talented performers and creators, made the app a living and breathing example of the impact global communities have.

Uplive and Hekka Fashion are both part of Asia Innovations Group (AIG). This is the latest effort from AIG to celebrate talent and diversity and boost the global creator economy.
