As soon as the pre-flop betting round ends, post-flop play begins. This begins with the dealing of three cards face up called the “flop”. The rules and betting options are pretty much the same as for pre-flop play. The first player to act after the flop is the first player with a hand to the dealer’s left.

Once all players have had a chance to act after the flop, the next card dealt is the turn. This betting round has the same rules and options as the previous ones, i.e. players can check, bet, call (if there is a bet), raise (if there is a bet) or fold. With a bit of luck, you could land one of the higher value hands listed on the Step 2 table and win a massive pot at the end.

The turn is when you have a made hand or are way behind. It is not always advisable to go after the river card to win.
