Tata IPL 2022: DC Beat SRH by 21 Runs In Match 50!

In match 50, DC beat SRH by 21 runs; they achieved a phenomenal victory by dominating all the three departments at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Warner powered DC to set a seemingly unshakeable target, 207 it was. SRH had to manage 208 runs to win, and they ended with 186 for eight wickets.

Warner here played an outstanding knock; indeed, his looking for loose balls shows his professionalism while dealing with new balls and swinging around. It was a very dominating inning, and Rovman Powell well assisted him. He also has scored a pretty 67 in just 35 balls. His innings are glittering with three boundaries and six over boundaries.

SRH was supposed to chase the score. However, Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson, the opening partners, were lagging behind the required run rate from the very first over. Sharma got a loose delivery and directed it over cover on the next over. The following delivery saw him flicking a legside delivery, and it landed up in the short fine leg – Yadav got a low catch.

The next over saw Willamson pulling a short delivery down the square leg, it was followed by Tripathi pulling one similar delivery on the subsequent over, and it was a biggie. But getting on the mark and keeping the way illumined differs; Willamson was beaten entirely on the next over.

In the sixth over, Tripathi had back-to-back boundaries against Shardul Thakur. The first was edgy, but the next was smacked down the cover with a beautiful inside-out footwork. He was, however, cleared off by Marsh while pulling it without either distance or elevation – and Thakur got an easy catch in the deep square leg; he made no mistake. In the eighth and ninth over – only a single boundary came from Markram; the rest was only knitted with singles.

The elevation arrived in the tenth over, and Markram and Pooran hammered two huge sixes, followed by three boundaries by Markram in the eleventh over against Marsh. First, a cover drive, then a pull, and finally, slammer got him and his team some hope left. The same happened in the next over – on the penultimate and the last ball of the over, Markram got back to back over boundaries against Kuldeep.

The way Markram was going could be helpful indeed, but he was dismissed in a bad junction.

Pooran, Markram’s erstwhile companion, was trying a bit – he hammered two over boundaries in the fourteenth over against Nortje. The first was a class; deep in his crease, he pulled to maximum; the later that arrived on the last ball of the over, he came underneath the fuller delivery to tonk it away in a long-off fence.

Fifteenth over saw Pooran slog sweeping Thakur; it wasn’t a bad delivery but got the elevation over the square leg for six. Pooran again got an over-boundary on the next over; he was getting SRH going.

Eighteenth oversaw him hammering boundary, getting resurrection for being dropped and an over-limit from his bat. But Thakur got his man out of a loose delivery, a full toss – which Pooran got a top edge for being caught up at the long-off fence. After his dismissal, Delhi was much relieved – victory eventually fell upon them.
